THE NORMAN HOTEL

‘Where should I go for STEAK?’ A question I hear often. We live in a country where this beast (STEAK) is revered like a god. Perhaps it should be a god, because it’s damn tasty. And how best to show appreciation for a god than to devour it?

The Norman Hotel is one of a million ‘Hotels’ that are essentially pubs that also sell overpriced meals. They usually sell STEAK. You may be familiar with other ‘Hotels’ such as The Caxton, Normanby and Breakfast Creek. I believe the more they love STEAK, the tastier it is for humans.

For example, I don’t believe The Caxton loves steak as much as The Norman loves STEAK. The Caxton claims their reputation is at ‘steak’, and it’s true, for their ‘steak’ is average – a lesser god. The Normanby is similar to the Caxton – they would draw even. Actually perhaps a little ahead.

Fortunately The Normanby’s weak attempt to deceive the devoted is unable to phase The Norman… for they truly love STEAK. The real capitalised stuff. Granted, not as much as Breakfast Creek loves STEAK, but really, which Hotel could? It is situated next to a DOG track… a battleground of the other great god.

I totally agree. I went to The Norman last weekend for a steak, and I can say undoubtedly that it is the best steak it Brisbane.

I really love steak, and I regularly go to a lot of different places in Brisbane for a steak. I’ve been to The Norman quite a few times and I’ve never had a bad steak there (you know how some times the steak wasn’t as good as last time, that doesn’t happen at The Norman).

On another note, The Broadway Hotel at the end of Logan Rd. does a 10$ steak and salad bar, that you get to cook yourself. It’s definitely worth a look just out of cheap & steaky-ness.

Oh, and another good place is The Story Bridge Hotel, under the Story Bridge. They do really nice steak, and also have a fantastic blue-vein cheese steak sauce.

I’ve always wanted to try out The Story Bridge Hotel. It’s the last remaining Hotel on the list. Last night’s Norman feast was as good as always like you say. Oh the joy…

    Eat leaves, not cows.

I maintain there should be a rating system for comparison – like Brisbane News.

Thus quickly and efficiently conveying information to those unwilling to read your arduous oration – those much like myself!

    Mmmm steak.

Is Breakfast Creek’s that good? I’ll have to try these Breakfast Creek and Norman Hotel steaks.

I back Brad on the Storybridge steaks, the steak animals that roam the pastures of Kangaroo Point are truely delicious and truely, truely loved sensually by the chefs at Storybridge.
