A STEAK Knife

Cha Cha Char is a pinnacle of STEAK. This popular and well-loved bar and grill located at Eagle Street Pier can do no wrong. In fact the only wrong done on its premises is when patrons do not order STEAK. I have heard about this practise, it is very distressing.

Great venue but it’s loud. Do not expect to maintain an effective conversation when it’s busy (unfortunately it is nearly always busy). Thick belt operated ornate fans adorn the ceiling. It’s all very impressive…

Yes

A couple of weeks ago I traveled great distances to this Mecca of meat. Last time I dined with friends (a few months ago) we gorged ourselves on the STEAK “special” of the night – a kilogram cut of thick rib fillet, medium rare, with a sprinkling of salad. Here’s a tip – if you wish to enjoy the experience, do not spend time not eating. It will get cold and it will be inedible. But if you really must open your mouth for other reasons, order medium instead. I am ashamed to say I did not finish my STEAK. It tarnished the rest of the night. I would not make that same mistake again.

Oh and the Caesar Salad is one of the best around. The lettuce is evenly coated with dressing. This is a rarity believe or not. You can order it as a larger side to a main. Doesn’t it look ridiculously scrumptious?

Yes! You are looking at bliss.

Anyhow enough of that. This is what we came for. We attempted to reorder the kilo cut but were rejected. Instead they offered us a compromise – we could double the size of their wagyu rib, normally 350g, now a satisfying 700g of pure STEAK. Yes. Medium rare please.

It came, we came… to the conclusion that this was an awesome STEAK. Thick, not too tender, utterly delicious. I barely spoke during this experience, I finished off this beast, I was redeemed.

It’s difficult to convey the size of such a STEAK. I tried taking a comparison photo with my fist (obviously I was in shock) but that didn’t turn out so well. Let’s just say it was 8 x 4 x 1 inches. I think the plate it was on is normally used for serving turkey.

So is it the best STEAK in Brisbane? Awards on their entrance signage states as much (I believe they have already allocated a space for 2007 and 2008) but I’m divided. Only 2 blocks away is close contender. Oh Gianni’s, how you please us so…
