Auditorium

AUDITORIUM DEMO

Bookmark and Share 22/12/2008

Auditorium is a simple but beautiful game with the potential of an abstract audio visual epic.

Direct a flow of light through audio containers using a set of controls. The audio landscape forms as containers are filled with light.

The Auditorium demo encompasses 4 well designed Acts and from the first moment, its highly polished presentation draws you in and the quality of its web presence is a shining example of quality indie game marketing and development. They even provide a backstory for discussion.

The 4th Act, Spring, is when it is at its most playful and rewarding but unfortunately the Preview after Spring is somewhat confusing as it is over too quick. No matter, it’s still early days yet.

Auditorium is something amazing to look forward to.

It’s amazing how far Flash has come over the years. I was saving this for a rainy day and after snuggling up with it for a little while today I came away, as most people did it seems, very impressed. The potential for some fiendishly difficult puzzles is definitely there and I’m not sure how much more polish they could put on it without taking away from its simple elegance (and destroying my processor?), so hopefully a finished package will be out soon!

I wondered, though, if the Preview after Spring randomly selects a different one of the “new” controls for you to try each time you play. I got the “deflect” control, how about you?

Interesting. Just played it again then and got the Deflect control. When I played it a month back the Preview contained the Speed control. The problem was that it was so quick and easy you didn’t actually know how you solved it. I wrote to them about it. I guess they changed it to the Deflect control instead. Cool!

They’re rewarding fans who donated $5 or over with a free copy of the full game. An excellent model for indie gaming. http://blog.cipherprime.com/?p=172
