SCOOT is an augmented reality location-based game that employs mobile devices, interactive multimedia installations, virtual worlds, the web and public displays to guide players through unique public places.

Players follow and respond to a series of clues via SMS while encountering SCOOT characters, challenges and activities, in an attempt to uncover interesting and useful facts about a site.

SCOOT is a project of Newish Media, created and led by Deb Polson and developed by a small core team of artists and developers.

MARS CHALLENGE

Back in 2005 we were approached to create educational games for English book publishers Daily-Update. Unfortunately we only created one game, Mars Challenge, before other commitments took over.

Daily-Update were great to work with and it is with regret that we never re-engaged the relationship. Mars Challenge was one of our earliest contract jobs and probably one of the smoothest to date. The game had one gnarly storyline too.

Colour Theory is a toy-like Flash game originally created for the I-GIVE competition that allows players to manipulate colour and movement by initiating a variety of positional effects.
